Paul and the Corinthians

Course Description

This course surveys the 1st-century city of Corinth and provides an overview of Paul’s life and work, as well as his relationship with the Corinthian church as seen through the Corinthian correspondence (1 and 2 Corinthians).

Course Outcomes

To understand the social realities of the 1st-century city of Corinth and environs and Paul’s own history and to explore how the urban realities at Corinth find expression in Paul’s complex relationship with the church he founded at Corinth
